no, knock on wood, but I've been around those who have had it. One man had "walking pneumonia" and was out of work for 3 weeks and still, back at work moved at a snail's pace for several more weeks. Another had it, she also has asthma so the pneumonia had her in the hospital 10 days, rehab 2 weeks and is home bound, on oxygen, and apparently with COPD and heart valve problems. I suspect she had some of this before but it didn't manifest until the pneumonia. She's 3 1/2 months past the initial diagnosis and shows no signs of getting her right lung completely clear. SOOOO, depends on your age, your health, and the severity of the pneumonia. Hopefully the doc has written you a note or talked to your boss.........but give the boss some slack, apparently you are necessary. Reminds me I need that second pneumonia vax. |
My brother had it about 5 years ago (he was 44 then). Laid him out for a week. |
i am not thinking i am necessary at work, my boss has not called me,,,emailed me, or texted me to see if i am still at home, in the hospital or anything...guess i am just a number for a body........especially surprised since a guy that worked with us died from pneumonia complications in march of this year.. whats even harder to figure out is the company wants the managers to engage the employees,,,,you know just chit chat see how things are, bs...so when i am well,,,he may call two or three times a week...... he could of at least texted |
