The first puddle was the biggest and there was a small spot of blood, like one drop. She seems fine otherwise, just moving a little slow. I've been attributing it to the arthritis in her back legs and the recent skirmishes with Bently, but this is different. The other puddles were smaller, as usuall, and no blood. She's spent most of the day outside. What are your thoughts? |

Gosh, Jil, sorry to hear about this. Is she on any type of meds for her arthritis? Deramaxx especially can be really tough on her stomach and might cause an ulcer. I forget how old she is. You may want to consult your vet just to be on the safe side. Regular vomitting isn't good, especially if she's older.
Good luck with Bently, btw. Great that you're giving him a home and he sounds like the complete opposite of Belle. Verve |
She isn't on anything for the arthritis (although I have given her some of Belle's Metacam a few times) and it's not really regular vomiting either.
I found a website with symptoms to look out for if you see blood in vomit and she doesn't have any of them. I guess we're going to the vet tomorrow, just to be safe. Grrr. Bentley's on a tear right now. He wants Calvie kitty to play with him in the worst way. Calvin just turned away from him and sat there. He learns quickly! |
Jil any news regarding Kayli? Been thinking about you.
Marianne and the boys |
We're going to the vet in the morning. I had actually forgotten about it...
She seems fine, no diarrhea, no more vomiting, just the annoyance of dealing with Bentley. |
If she's been doing more barking and growling lately, (No! Not with Bentley around!) she could have irritated her throat. Then the vomitting would have irritated it just enough to bring up some blood, like a brush burn. Try to keep her calm and maybe give her an ice cube or two to ease her throat. If nothing else they may help to keep her hydrated if she's been vomitting a lot. |
Mandy, I think you hit it dead on. The vet sent us home with instructions for me to watch her stools for any dark discoloration, but he seems to think her throat was irritated and the vomit brought up the blood.
This was typical Kayli puking - I'm so excited, I get to eat in 12 minutes! Woo Hoo! Is it time? Is it time? Puke. Sorta like she's making room for more, even though there's nothing there to begin with. It's not a frequent occurance, but it does happen. Nawwwww....no extra barking or growling here, LOL!! Bentley totally pissed me off last night by pouncing on Kayli for no apparent reason. It wouldn't have bothered me so much, but it was late at night and I could see Floof was tired and his attitude just pissed me off. I need to remember to be disappointed in him more often - he's very apologetic and contrite this morning. He even went in his crate nicely, even though I could tell he wanted to play. I wonder where I put that training schedule . . . I'm just glad it's nothing serious with the Floof Monster. |
Yipee for Kayli Not so yipee for Bentley |
He's STILL trying to make it up to me! He really is a good Boo Bear.
Kayli much prefers being away from the house though. Kayli is a trooper. |
LOTS of puppy energy At least he's contrite(don't count on that lasting for long) |
Trust me, I'm not!
|
Glad to hear the Floof is going to be fine!! Belly rubs from me! |
Want me to bring Clyde over to tire him out? Lucy will appreciate it too! |
Yes please! |
