Hair changing

My 6 year old female has a spot on her upper back that is going from gray to black. The texture is also different. She has seen 2 vets and had a blood test that came back negative. The spot is getting larger, she is not itching and the skin underneath is not red or abnormal looking. Has anyone seen this before.

Curious.........only see darkening as result of wounding. Since vets aren't seeing anything.........indeed curious. Change in diet, supplements, hormones?

no changes in anything and no wounds
The spot is getting larger and spreading and no one seems to know what this is. There has been no change in anything with her and no skin problems and wounds or itching or diet. here personality is still the same also.

I guess she has found the fountain of youth.
I've had that happen, although much smaller, with simple bruises. Yes a puncture wound will grow darker hair when it heals, but so will a bruised spot. I learned this watching one of our girls fling herself down on large gravel- she ends up with a few small dark spots that the hair eventually changes back to lighter gray.

Is it possible that something is causing bruising?
