Been a Bad Mommy!
Which means Benson has not been getting the brushings I normally give her. She's getting matted, and now I can't seem to get ahead of it. I feel like a terrible mommy!! So I called the groomer today, and for the very first time in her entire life, Benson might be getting shaved!  I was almost in tears, because I don't want to have to shave her down, and Jean (her groomer) loves Benson's long coat! Fortunately (for me!) I can't get her in until June 5, so that gives me 2 more weeks to try to work through her coat. And Jean has put her down as a shave with a "?" and has said that, if she can, she'll try to work through the matts that I couldn't get out. Neither of us wants to shave her, although if it comes down to comfort, we'll do it. Reluctantly, but we will.Wish me luck, and let's hope my Mane 'N Tail, my brushes and combs, and Benson's patience all hold out for two more weeks! |

If you do have to shave her, just know that it grows back INCREDIBLY FAST!  I feel like I am always clipping Oscar, or grabbing the scissors to trim something. It's like that time lapse photography of a flower growing..... if I watch closely, I bet I can see his fur getting longer right now. Laurie and Oscar |
| Maybe cutting a few inches off will make mat removal easier? Suggestion for groomer. |

| So, despite pulling double and triple shifts at the radio station due to a planned vacation and 2 unplanned illnesses, I managed to get through most of the matts on poor Benson. (She was not terribly pleased with me by hour 3 of grooming on Wednesday!) And my groomer, Jean, got through the rest today - and didn't charge me extra!
