At least she didn't start with the bloom end. |

Oh what a bad doggie .....good thing you caught her before she had her way with all 700. What kind of special event are you having that involves soooo many flowers and bringing in flowers from South America? We are just starting to see flowers and trees blooming over here in Virginia. What a wonderful sight after the winter we had! April showers are bringing the flowers already....yea!!!!! |
I bet you are enjoying the blossoms!! We've been in bloom for some time now, love it. Now our spring winds are kicking in so flower petals flying along with zillions of elm seeds. Our version of "snow." Tulips just blow apart here, but those daffodils are tough suckers. Roses will be blooming shortly.....not at my place, a colder area, but in the city. As for the event. It's Eastern Orthodox Easter this Sunday. The Eastern Christian churches --Greek, Russian, etc. use the old Julian calendar to date Easter. Some years we correspond with Western churches, but more often we are later by 1-4 weeks. Crazy. The even is Holy Friday where we decorate a replica of Christ's tomb.....called a Kouvouklion. I'd share pictures of previous years' decorations if I know how we do it now here. My helpers and I have about 2 1/2 hours to get everything prepared. Crazy but we get it done. Of course I screwed up the order this year by forgetting to order most of the red blooms. Plus one shipper was late getting his order started out of Ecuador so the flowers will be 2 days late.......making this week more stressful than it needs to be. I'm currently redesigning........just in case things don't correct themselves by tomorrow. To say the least, I'm a puddle after all this. |
Sounds like a wonderful deed you are doing! I can imagine it is very stressful especially when dealing with vendors and being at their mercy to get the order right and delivered on time since there is no putting off the event time or day. And then bad doogie Kdog had to add to the workload....or maybe she was just trying to be helpful by eliminating some of the flowers you had to work with. I bet you just feel like a tall cold drink after all is said and done and sigh a big sigh of relief until next year rolls around again. Wish you could post pictures....I bet it will be beautiful! |
