BUT - I do think it's time to invest in clippers for doing her pawpads and sanitary areas. The Wahl clippers I've used in the past are showing their age, and the cordless beard trimmer I used occasionally for her pawpads seems to give her razor burn, so I've stopped using it. I know a lot of you like the Andis clippers, but since I'm not doing a full-body shave, do you think I should look for a clipper model with a small blade area, to maneuver around those tricky pawpads? I'm open to thoughts and suggestions. |

Since you won't be doing much heavy fur cutting and will be in the "arm pits" and paws, yeah, you should be able to get by with smaller clippers. |
I bought a small hand size conair clipper that has a blade about and inch long and it works great for that. It is not loud and uses an A size battery. Got it from pet smart. ConairĀ® Palm Pro Micro Pet Trimmer I cost less than 15.00 and petsmart said i could bring it back if i didnt like it. But I really liked it. I also have small scissors to trim hair at feet when it gets longer than the foot and hits the ground/floor. Take it slow and you will do great. |
I believe they have it on their web site as well if you want to look at it. Have you bought/tried anything yet? I really like these as they are not too loud. |
For pads, I use a Wahl Peanut. It has a cord, and is very powerful for a little clipper. I have a friend who has had one for many years, and I loved hers so much that I bought my own. |
