Argh..........you are hardy souls up there. While I can sympathize with your cold and snow (and friends in Boston too), at least yours will melt. You will have water....hopefully the melt won't be fast and flooding sets in.

OTOH, western towns listed now must face water shortages and fire danger. Towns like Denver get their drinking water from snow pack. With early drying of the forests, fire season will be earlier and more damaging.
We ARE a hardy bunch up here, but man, enough is enough.

It was only 11F (-12C) here this morning with wind chills around 0F (-18C).

There are parts of my yard that still have 1.5 to 2 feet of snow.

It's almost April. <sigh>
We are getting 4 inches of snow now. So tired of this. A pipeline needs to be built from the east coast to the west so that all the melting snow can be tunneled to the places that are in drought.
Yes, I am tired of the winter as well. It was 60* here and the wind chill made it a cold 58* I even had to put my zip up hoodie on a few times today while working in the shade.......
^^^^^ That's just cruel! 8)

Looking out at a winter wonderland again. Took me 2 hr and 40 minutes to get to work yesterday, as the snow was falling all during rush hour. UGH!!

Though I am grateful that our winter wasn't half as bad as last year, and a fraction as bad a Syracuse and Boston, I will still be happy to see it in my rearview mirror.

Oscar is really struggling to stay on his feet, and the white stuff and black ice on the ground isn't helping!!!

Oh, think of the snow mold on your lawns when they do emerge! YIPES! Oh well, at least you have lawns.

I won't mention temps here but know the usual big winds will be here later today.........nothing like those spring winds without trees or such to moderate the blast. Sand storms, grit under contact lens. On the bright side, we are abloom with spring flowering trees, it is lovely. And the pollen level on those non showy trees: elms, junipers, etc is very high nearing extreme.

I fear you may rush through spring straight into summer, not fun.
You guys have really had a tough winter. Watching the weather and reading all the comments/pics on fb make me so happy that I don't have to endure those types of winters anymore. Hopefully Spring will be with you by May. Yes, I do remember having snow on Easter.

We've had snow on Mother's Day in the recent past.
In Colorado we never knew if Mom's hiding of the Easter basket would mean the basket would be buried in snow or the chocolate rabbit would melt due to high temperatures. When DH and I lived in the high country, it was always the town guess, would ice be off the lake in time for the Memorial Day Regatta. Hope the ice is off your lakes soon!
Rain now will melt snow, but looks like more of the white "carp" for you, hopefully just flurries.
This year was hard for you guys. Every few years that happens. Come on down here to warm up
