Everyone is. Being an adult she should figure things out quickly, want to please you. Make up your mind this will be just a different colored dog because. Constantly comparing her to GRs isn't fair. Foremost she is a DOG and most all her actions will be DOG. Nice thing about sheepdogs, if the grooming gets ahead of you, clip her down and start growing out the hair again. The frequent grooming will mean you will bond with her all the faster. Just make grooming fun, chances are she will have to be taught this........just another thing you get to help her with. If she is coming from a reputable rescue, she's been vetted for personality so one less thing to worry about. Kdog arrived here, scared, "What do I do, where do I sleep, are you going to hurt me?" We didn't force ourselves on her, let her pick her own place to sleep (she was already house trained) and set up a routine so she knew when to pee and pooh, when food would be served and let her receive as much lovin' as she wanted, but not to where she was afraid. She figured out quickly she had fallen into a pretty good thing. |
