Mickey Finn has been with us for about 10 days now and he has fit in just right. The two puppies love having a baby to play with and he loves having some other puppies to play with as well. Asia has taken on the nanny role again, but is a little more laid back this time and lets the older puppies tires Mickey Finn out. He really is a smart little guy. He has buddied up with Declan which may or may not be a good thing. Declan is my trouble maker. He keeps all of us on our toes. He's too smart for his own good. So I keep a close eye on what Declan might be teaching the baby. sigh Helene and Mickey Finn get along fantastic. She kinda mother's him at times. If I ask her "where is the baby?" off she goes and looks for him and hauls him back. All 4 are doing really well together. Mickey starts obedience classes on Saturday, this aught to be fun. I will post a pic of my darlings soon, so you can see the addition and see how much the others have grown. I have eye surgery on Tuesday, so after that I should be able to figure all of this out. |

So happy for you!! Sounds like such a fun house...yes, send pics asap!!! |
Congratulatios!!! |
Can't wait to see pics!!! Of all of them! If I am correct and I may be wrong but based on past pics I think you are the one with the Aussie? That must be Declan based on what you have said....Perfect description of my Skye! She purposefully sets up the other 2 doggies here for failure. I know she just sits back and laughs to herself when they get into trouble! Waaaaay too smart for her own good! I joke and say SHE thinks SHE pays the bills here! Not an aggressive bone in her body but very protective and I think she could run my household by herself if she only had thumbs and could speak the english language. SO happy you welcomed another snuggler to your group! How exciting! Best of luck on your surgery, you certainly will have lots of affection waiting for you when you get home! |

Yes, I do have two aussies, Asia and Declan. In my profile pic you will see two aussies as well, one is China the other is Asia. China and Violet, the oes in the profile pic, both passed away January 2014. Asia is the black face tri in the pic. I now have Declan/Asia the aussies and Helene/Mickey Finn the oes. Declan is too smart for his own good, hence he gets in trouble. lol |
Congrats on your new fur baby! I love the name! What a busy and love filled house you must have. You must have the patience of a saint to have 3 under the age of a year and a half!!! Good thing you have Asia to help keep those upstarts in their place. I have 4 dogs also and it can get tough when they all want to be pet at the same time but I wouldn't change a thing. Best wishes for a quick recovery on your upcoming surgery! |
Congrats on your latest addition. Can't wait to see pictures. |
Welcome to Mickey Finn!! Can't wait to see photos of the pup and the whole fur family together. Good luck and quick recovery from your surgery. |
Welcome Mickey Finn!! What a fun and active household you must have right now You have the best names for your pups! Does this name have significance? I always thought "Declan" was named after a role in the tv show, Revenge!??? Can't wait to see pics of Mickey Finn and the whole pack |

I always thought "Declan" was named after a role in the tv show, Revenge!??? Can't wait to see pics of Mickey Finn and the whole pack Thank you so much for the compliment on Mickey Finn's name. There is a long explanation as to how we decided on the name Michael Francis Finn aka Mickey Finn. I'll tread the needle and tell the story and hope the treads match up. My husband, Chuck, is in the Knights of Columbus and there was a really sweet man, from Ireland, who Chuck met there. Mickey Finn had a great sense of humor and was always in a sweet mood. When I met him, I remarked to Chuck that Mickey Finn would make a great name for the oes male we had hope to get in a few years. Declan was my #1 male name. So the names had been simmering for a few years ago. So Chuck's friend's name was Michael Francis Finn, so we used his whole name. When I was growing up and all of my life, my dad called me Mike. I always knew that if they had a boy instead of me, a girl, they would have named me Michael. My middle name is Frances. So, Mickey Finn is also named after me. lol My son Aaron's middle name is Michael, named after me as well. lol Declan is from a character that showed up in many of my favorite author's books, Maeve Binchey. Quinn is from "The mighty Quinn." So Declan Quinn. The original Mickey Finn passed away a year ago Christmas Time...so his memory lives on in my sweet boy. |
I'm so glad you took the time to post that! Very fun to read! Lots of thought went into naming my nugglers as well. Wasn't about looking for another name starting with an "S"! When someone asks I get about 1/2 way through a story on one of them and they look amazed that so much effort and thought went into it....Anticipating an arrival and learning about your new family member on top of emotion your family feels and adding in heritage is a wonderful way to name a pup I think! |
Congratulations! I can't wait to see pictures! |
