For those who read and responded or just sent good thoughts last week, thanks....I finally got up the nerve to talk to my boss in a very nice calm way....said he didn't tell me to file my injury last summer under workman's comp because he thought it wasn't work related. Which I can understand, I had been sick with bronchitis and had been coughing some but it was a freak accident that i was at work, stretching to reach up for something and coughed at the same time and wham. So I feel better about having an answer on that one. Then, drumroll......I asked about some minor changes to my schedule, it would not cost the company anything, my dr visit and why I was requesting them. That I wanted to talk to him first and let it be his decision, I did not want to go to HR. I thought he should be the one to do it if it needed to be done. I did not want to get him in trouble by going to HR first, or him mad at me by going to HR, that I wanted him to try and understand the struggles I was having and needed help. He calmly looked at me and said no problem, we will help you. Yes, I almost passed out and asked him what had changed since last year??? The company saw a few glitches in their execution of things and the metrics are measured differently now...He would talk to our route ops person about the changes and email him if i needed something else. So shocked was I, ended up being sick the rest of the week, worked, but took a lot of cold medicine. One step at a time. Thanks for the good thoughts everyone. |
