Baby kitty may have a new home. Went by my insurance office on Friday and showed the girls pics and videos and one of the girls that used to work there called me sat. Sent her pics and talked on phone with her. If the feline leuk/aids test come back negative, kitty has a new home. Taking kitty to vet on Monday for the test. Keep your fingers crossed for me. As cute as the baby is, I can not keep the baby. But Tinsley has been helping take care of it. If it cries, she lets me know. Keeping baby in bathroom with lights on and less room to ramble. I let Tinsley give it kisses to ease her mind the baby is ok. She is so funny wagging that little butt while she kisses the baby. We can be in the kitchen and I can say lets go check on the baby and she goes to the bathroom door. Wish I could figure out how to post pics of Tinsley and the baby. Wish us all good luck that the test come back negative. |

Adorable. Tinsley the cat rescuer. I remember our "Kitten rescue" here after Momma got squished (just more road kill I thought), three days later out came 5 very hungry kittens! It was MO sheepdog who told me we had "guests" and she took it upon herself to clean the buggers after I fed them. Once they got old enough to ambush the sheepdogs and the butt cleaning become unnecessary, MO would have nothing more to do with them. Jack became the babysitter with one in particular liking to curl up between Jack's paws. All of us were happy when the no kill shelter took the kittens after they tested negative for leuk. Fun for awhile, but I prefer sheepdogs. |
That is a very sweet story. |
Baby kitty update. He is still here. Only not to sad about it. Vet said he was really to young for the test and wait, that it would be a waste of money since he weighed so little and guessing at age. He has grown a good bit, eats like a pig. Very spoiled, Tinsley lets me know when he makes any sound from the bathroom, he meows if he is hungry, or wants to come out and play with her. I have had him on the couch with me and Tinsley licks him to death while wiggling that little butt and I just laugh so much. Been trying to get pic of Tinsley and Kitty playing, but when I click the camera, they move. Hope to get a good shot this weekend so I can post. Should take baby to vet on Monday for test and then to new parents after that. Sad but happy. They are such nice people and I know they will let me visit to see how he grows. They live in same town I live in. Then I will just have Cloud and Thunder kitty to find homes for and Mama kitty after I get her spayed. |
Have you discussed this with Tinsley? Apparently you have a good Nanny dog who likes taking care or urchins. I see a future in rescue for you, er, Tinsley. Guests are fun, but better when they leave! Good job raising the little squirt. |
I actually was a foster mom for cats and especially kitties about 10 years ago. So the babies all got used to Bear Bear and Starbuck and they loved the kitties as well. It really helped when they got adopted. You become attached even though you try not too, I mean they are so damn cute. I cried many happy tears for my foster babies. One was hit by a car and they didn't know if it would make it, but I took it home, fed it with an eye dropper. Vet didn't want me moving it around the first night and day because they were not sure how much it was injured, So I just lay my hand on it so it could feel the warmth and love and talked to it, and the baby made it and got a great home. I did cry a lot of happy tears for that one. Think it had a little scar on its mouth where some of the skin had been scraped off, but it turned out great. A pregnant mama showed up at my house. Really. They know where I live. Two didn't make it, but one did, Boris, and then got a kitty about two weeks older that needed some time to grow and mama took her right in, named her Natasha. Fireball was one of my favorites. Little orange fluff. Walked up to the dogs like, hey, you're a really big cat...New parents said their lab loved him and he was so easy going around the dog. So I know we all did good. Good times I miss, but have too much going on now to do any more than I have. One or two at a time is my limit right now. Guess I have been lucky all my OES have loved kitties. But they were all exposed to them at very young age and I think that made a huge difference. |
