For those of you who have been following Dock's story, it has come to an end. Over the past few weeks, his health deteriorated---he could no longer get up on his own, then he started refusing food, even his favorites. He had a crisis this weekend and we let him go. He had so many health issues (heartworms, Evan's syndrome, thyroid issues, autoimmune trouble, a history of cancer) that it seemed like the right thing to do, and the right time to do it. I was with him. I know I only had him for a short time, but I loved him dearly and will miss him. He fought hard and now he is not fighting any more. |

I'm so very sorry for his passing. You gave him so much comfort, and that's the best anyone can do or hope. It's such a dark sad time. My heart goes out to you. |
Awwww. Poor Dock. He fought so hard. Catherine (and all those that worked to help Dock), I'm so sorry to hear this. I was hoping he would find a normal where he could live a long, happy life. May this sweet baby rest in peace now, free from pain. |

I'm so sorry; he seemed so well when we saw him in Atlanta at the Sheepdog Day in the Park. Still, I'm glad he ended his days with love and happiness, and not the stress and illness and fear that he came into rescue with. |

Thank you all. He was my only dog, so now the house seems so quiet and lonely without him. I miss having someone follow me all over the house. |
I'm so sorry for your loss. I couldn't live a day without my lovely Joy. I was more than a year without a dog in my house, (now she is four years already) I had to call my new dog, Joy, because she brought tons of joy and love into my life again Hope you get a new dog as soon as possible. |
