Bi fold or Tri fold ramps?

Have been looking at buying a ramp for a ford explorer 2000 for Tinsley. Wondering if you all could give me feedback on the shorter ones verses the longer ones. Just wondering if the longer ones are more stable and do the pups like them more? Any info from anyone who has a ramp would be appreciated. Thanks

We had a bi-fold ramp for our first OES, Quincy. Well, we really had two. The first one we bought was hard plastic, with ridges on the ramp, and was ridiculously difficult for Quincy to navigate. Too slippery. Bought a second bi-fold, one with a rubber mat attached, and that one worked really well. We had a Chevy Blazer at the time.

Good luck in your search!

The longer, the better. That makes the angle more gradual. I tried three, and the third one was right for us. I use it to get Dock in the hatch back of my car (a Nissan Juke).

The first one we tried was a short, plastic ramp. I was hoping that Dock could climb up it into my back seat, but it was too wide to fit in the doorway. Here's the link: https://www.petco.com/Shop/Product.aspx?SKU=1273787

The second we tried was a tri-fold ramp that was only 16 inches wide, but it was too narrow; Dock kept falling off, even after practicing. Here's the link for that one: http://www.petco.com/product/112343/Pet ... SiteSearch

The third ramp (and, of course, the most expensive) was a wider (20") bi-fold ramp that Dock will go up. Like I said, because of its width, we use it to get him into the back hatch of the car. We got the extra large size. Here's the link for it: https://www.petco.com/Shop/Product.aspx?SKU=1247921

I really liked the second ramp, but Dock would not use it. That ramp was more lightweight and fit in my car nicely. The ramp we ended up with is larger and heavier, and not as easy to set up. It is also difficult to find enough room for the ramp and the dog in my car, since it is a small car. But it's the one Dock prefers, and that's all that matters.

BTW, Dock weighs over 110 pounds.
Thanks for sharing the links so I can compare. I knew the 3rd one worked for you but had no idea what kind it was. This helps a lot.
And how is Mr. Handsome doing this week with his elbow and stuff? I wish I lived closer. I would so love to see how big he is and love on him. :D
Bet my poor little 55lb still growing Tinsley would look like a Chihuahua next to Dock....lol...
Glad to help out. There's no telling which one Tinsley will like the best. You just have to try them and see.

Dock's elbow is doing better. No infection. I'm taking him to the vet tomorrow for a bandage change, and we're supposed to talk over sewing up the wound now that it looks like the infection is gone.

We have an appointment with the internist on Saturday to talk about the Evans syndrome and heart worm issues.

If you ever come down, just let me know. I would love to meet you and introduce you to Dock in person.

Did I tell you about the bandage wars that the vet techs have started? The tech at my local vet decorated Dock's bandage with a little smiley face, so ever since then each tech (we use our local vet and the 24/7 vet hospital for bandage changes) tries to outdo it. We've had his name spelled on the bandage, hearts on the bandage, stripes, and all sorts of things. He is currently sporting a blue and white striped bandage with an anchor on it. I've posted the bandage art on facebook. If you do facebook, PM me and I will friend you so you can see the art (and more pictures of Dock). I would post them here, but it's so time-consuming.
