upload pic He's been very good with going to the bathroom, he has had accidents only becuase i didnt get up early enough to let him out, other than that, he's super smart and knows where to go. I bought a crate yesterday and he didnt like being in there last night cuz he whined, and barked a little, i had to quiet him down. He had a crate where I got him from so he should be ok with it. I'm even thinking i should maybe return it, does he really need it? it was $75 and I'm fine with him sleeping on my bed. I decided I'd feed him a home-made diet, I just dont feel right giving packaged dog food. I did buy a bag to have if I dont have time to prepare somthing but its easy. some protein with some carbs. I bought him a bone that he likes alot. and i give him treats a bits of banana with peanut butter on it. He's teaching me responsibility and is making me wake up on time, Its wonderful, and he is so fluffy. |

Welcome! Little Kuzya is gorgeous and good luck with him. I hope you bring each other much joy Cheers Sue |
Oh, another gorgeous puppy!!!! He is adorable Welcome to our forum, and for posting a picture of Kuzya!!! What an exciting time for you!!! New puppy, college, etc. Your pup will keep you grounded and focused for sure!!!! I do think that I would keep the crate though. Not only for sleeping but it will help with potty training too. Plus, most importantly, your puppy will need the safety of it while you are at school. These puppers get into all kinds of mischief when left alone to explore. Usually just destructive chewing-couches, shoes, walls-but sometimes, it can be a serious and life threatening. Hate to see that happen. There are many past posts about crate training. Hope you find them helpful. You sound like a very dedicated and healthy owner to make your own dog food. I have no experience with puppy nutrition, but do know that their growth is rapid the first six to eight months. Large breeds may have special dietary needs as puppies. Your vet or someone here can help guide you. Some owners on our forum feed a raw or BARF diet. You will find many threads on it. Looking forward to hearing all the adventures of little Kuzya!! They are so precious and sweet |
Welcome and Congrats!! What a cutie pie!! Ann Marie, Middletown, DE Milo's Mom |
Congrats on your new puppy. Very sweet! Hope to see more pictures as he grows. I think you should follow the advice on both crate training and diet. Especially with you starting college... Being used to a crate will be helpful. Also, puppies have specific nutritional needs that a vet can give you help with or if you don't want to use dry food because of the stories about recalls etc. Fromm's or Purina Pro plan are 2 choices that have a good large breed formula and no quality issues. Anyway, have fun with your cutie! |
