Oh my god, how awful.... that is so sad, and horrific.... |
I trusted my dogs after Hayley was born to an extent...
I made sure if I left the room and went to the kitchen I could still see the baby. Those new portable cribs have the baby so close to the top. I don't see that as safe. If the baby was in the bottom part of the portable crib..aka pack and play thingy there was no way the dog could have gotten to her... This is really an awful story.... I could not even imagine. But I did see my Husky hunt down my sleeping cat and maul him. Most huskies are not good with "small animals" and I'm sure that's what the dog viewed the baby as... Prey! Awful!!! Elissa |
How very sad.
As much as we talk about our pups in human terms and give them human characteristics this is a reminder that they are, after all, animals. |
I agree with Tasker's mom. When I was breeding I was asked about the temperment of the parents. I would always tell people that they should never trust a dog a 100%. No matter how well we train them, their animal instincts are still there. Unfortunately, as in this sad case, something went wrong. It was probably not the fault of either, human or animal, but such a tragic ending. |
Oh that's horrible, but like Taskar's mom said, we have to remember they are animals. You just never know.
