So we've been working with her to figure out what she needs to break out of her trance when she gets stuck. And today she broke out of it! Robin had her drag a light weight (about 10 pounds - practically nothing) for about 5 minutes during weigh-in, and that seemed to give her enough confidence to pull in the chute - finishing at 725! (She gave us the at 825, but did finally get it down the chute with some help.) Hope it lasts! |

What a relief!!! Bond hasn't "hit the wall" bad like that yet, but I'm sure it will happen in some shape and form. |
After debating whether it was best to stop after yesterday's high note, or go back for day 2 in the hopes she had some momentum, we opted to go back today. And she did GREAT!! Not only did she pull, she pulled more and better than yesterday! She only got stuck a couple of times, and was able to get "unstuck" within 10 seconds. Then she'd roll down the chute like it was nothing, and give her daddy kisses at the end. She finally went out at 1,075 (which was just shy of her best ever pull). And at the end of the day, she had qualified for her first ever title - APDA Pulling Dog Novice. Even better, lots of folks at the pull had been watching her struggle for over a year. She got huge cheers every time she pulled - and she ate it up. Now I can list her as Rhoad's Benson Ambrosia, PDN. I'm very proud of my little girl! |
Yay! Congrats Benson--great job! |
