I went flying across the yard in wedged heels and work clothes to see if he was okay. Fortunately he was I think standing up or getting up. He was walking around. I had to figure out how to climb down there in heels and still be able to get me and Harry back out. I did find a spot that seemed rockier and higher in the creek bottom. I climbed down. Put his front paws up on the lower wall which he could barely reach. Then hoisted him up and told him to climb up the other wall. All while trying to keep Bert from trying to get down by us. Then I had to climb out which thank goodness for wired that holds in the rock to grab onto. The bottom half of his legs are wet and stinky from that nasty creek bed. And I stepped in that crap too with my shoes. Ewww. Now that I am over my scare and he seems to be moving around okay I am pissed at him. Like you do when your kid runs out in the street and almost gets hit by a car. I bet he will be sore tomorrow. You can see the creek bed in the picture below. |

Scary stuff, Judi. Glad everyone is okay. |
Wow, that's a big drop. Thank God he's OK. Maybe a short fence along the creek is in order? |
I had no idea that ditch was that deep! Thank heaves everyone is safe and sound. Will they remember? Maybe. |
That would scare me too, I would be for ever worried they would do it again. Glad he is okay. |
Thank goodness he is okay. Cindy |
Good grief boys!!! So glad that Harry is okay, what a fright |
Would have given me a heart attack! Glad he's ok. |
Holy moly! I guess that was your cardio for the day! Hope Harry still feels good in the morning - and you, too! |
Wow!! How is Harry feeling today??? I hope everything is ok and maybe just a little sore. Are you going to take him to vet to be sure nothing internal got injured? That would be what would scare me the most-the stuff you can't see. Praying no broken bones or other injuries. Please let us know how he is. |
He was acting his usual self this morning. Thanks for asking. I don't think he did anything internally just based on the way he is acting. When Harry rolled Bert last year we could tell that Bert wasn't doing okay the next day and took him to the vet. Yes, I need to work harder on this rolling Bert thing. |
Scary! So glad he's okay! |
Harry Harry Harry don't play in the moat!!! Glad he's ok. |
Poor, Poor, Harry....Come to live to Auntie Val...there are not 'trenches' at her house!!!!! (That boy has more ways of scaring ALL of us!!) ..so glad is 'bounces'....give him a kiss from us!!!! |
So pleased all ended up ok-even if you did ruin your shoes. A wire fence is in order, we put one round our large pond because Sprocket used to run into it as if he didn't know it was there, then look at us as if to say "who did that"?xx |
