On Pandas feet I use very small nail scissors..I pull the hair up between her toes and feel for matts...then clip those away. Then I lay her on her side and use the same scissors and clip the hair til its even with her pads...I have to have my legs over her so she wont pull away...I give her a break between the front 2 and the back 2 |
I have a mini set of clippers for that area. It's battery powered and small so it makes getting in between the toes fast and easy. It's by Crazy Dog (or something like that) and I got it at Pet Smart for like $15 or $20. |
Yeah!! That's so funny I was just telling my husband I need to figure out how to do that today!!!! It's like you guys read my mind - spooky!!!!!!!

I have a 5/8 blade for my Oster A5s...works great! |
I use my Oster clippers too. Scissors didn't cut thru the hair that well since it's so thick, plus I did not want to cut the pads. |
Thats why I use REALLY small scissors...you can only cut a little at a time, but with patience and a dustbuster, you're good to go! |
For Norman we use regular clippers with no blade. He lays still enough that we don't have to worry about any catching him. For the other two, I just sneak attack them with the scissors. While they are laying down for grooming I trim the hair even with their pads and then check for any knots or mats. Just be careful because sheepdogs are ticklish and if you hit a sensitive spot they'll go from horizontal to vertical in an instant! |
I just use the clippers for that too. |
I use a sharp pair of blunted end scissors.

Jill,
What Petsmart do you go to? |
It depends on where I'm at. I like the one by Lakeside because they sell Cowboy Magic there. I think that's the one I got the clippers at too. Otherwise I go to the one in Rochester or Roseville. |
