For the last week one of them barks all night long. I take away food and water around 9pm and don't put them up for the night until 11pm and they are very good about going to the crate but after an hour the one starts in barking non-stop. I finally get up around 4am and let them outside and then make them go back to the crate. But she continues to bark. I am assuming she sleeps all day as I am at work. They have outside time when I get home as well as walks and activities, so I try to tire them out before bedtime. I don't understand why all of a sudden she started this when she didn't use to do it. Help. |

I feel your pain. I have two puppies Declan is my Australian Shepherd who is 19wks old and my oes Helene who is 15 wks old. They are both in crates, side by side, in my bedroom at night. Declan is very quiet and has been since the first night he was with us at 8 wks he barked off and on, but stopped after that. Helene is a lot more mouthy. During the night if she has to go potty or is thirsty, she lets me know. The Tuesday night she had me up every 1 or 2 hours. I finally gave up at 4:30 and got up for the day. Last night, she only got up at 1:00 so not bad. They remind me very much of children, it is like stages they go through. I look forward to the time when I can trust them in the house at night, so they can let themselves out the doggy door when they need to go. I don't want them to grow up too fast though. I might add that Helene very rarely barks during the day, only when she's in her cage and needs something. |
