You know, as a parent, I would be thrilled if my 15-19 year old wanted a small dog over a baby. The article points out the women ages 15-29 are the ones having fewer children and buying more small dogs. I think that's ok, especially at the younger end of that age range. My husband and I had a dog in lieu of children early in our marriage. He was a big dog though. We actually bought a car that had 4 doors so he could be more comfortable on road trips. We took him everywhere, bought him cute leashes and collars, etc. That dog was spoiled. |
Yeah, they don't go thru adolescent mood swings, borrow the car, slam the door, insist on electronic toys, crawl out the window at night (ooops, some do), college tuition, expensive marriages, etc, etc. |
