It makes me wish I could meet her original owner, the person who must have loved this dog very, very much. I was given a picture of a dog that was a complete disaster, and to be honest she was pretty close to that. Although we have very serious concerns with this dog, we don't have a complete disaster. I keep unpacking and finding a dog who knew a good life at one time, and who knew how to be the very best of dogs. The abuse between her original owner and coming to our home really left her a huge mess. Its moments like today though, where I hope there's a heaven and Amy's original owner is looking down on us and Amy. I hope she knows that we are trying to do our best for that pup that she loved so well and cared for so much. |

I'm very glad you are taking the time and effort with Amy now. Thinking as an "original owner", I can't imagine anything worse than something happening to me and my dogs ending up in a horrible, abusive situation. |
I've had a couple foster dogs like that....it makes the whole process so entirely worth it all! |
good for u keep going in the end it will be worth it |
Thanks for your posts! They always tug at my heart. So glad you get 'glimpses' of the real dog. With you continuing to love and care for her, hopefully you will see more of 'that' girl! |
I so hope this works out for you and for Amy; sounds like you are the family she needs! |
I'm so happy you haven't given up on her. Rescues do come with baggage but it sounds like she is unpacking, letting you into her life. Be patient, it takes time, sometimes a lot of time. |
Poor Amy. I hope things keep moving in a positive direction for all of you. You're doing great things for her. |
It just warms my heart to hear how the little things, woven in, bring out the warmth and happiness. |
