Goose poop

When we walk Bella through a grassy area she will sniff around and suddenly stop and look like she is smelling something and then eat it . We realized the other day that what she was doing is eating goose poop. She is healthy according to our vet, if a bit heavy. But eating goose poop?

ooooooooooh, that's Yuki's favorite. Had to get every. single. one. It used to be sheep poo, but then when we started to walk around the lake... she found her true love. We always felt people would stare at us because for the entire walk, we were yelling at Yuki to stop. Every step... LEAVE IT YUKS!!! LEAVE IT!!!

Yuki grew out of it.....
For whatever reason, poop is appealing to some dogs. Even their own 8O

Charm loves deer poop, it's her mission to clean the hillside. Seems that the frozen "snacks" this winter were even more appetizing

Our vet said that it's not unhealthy but we rarely give her free rein to roam. Uck!!

I don't believe we have geese nearby but I'll bet she'd try it
Well, at least she didn't roll in it!
hahaha ^^ yes!!!

That's Tiggy's preferred way of dealing with poop.
Thank goodness none of mine do that.
Living on a farm, I truly feel they just think that animal poo is a normal part of the ground, and ignore it. For years we did herding classes at our farm, and you could always tell the "town dogs" - they were poop obsessed!! Eating it, sniffing it, distracted by it, rolling in it.
Now Simon the basset was a dead earth worm roller, but I attribute that to the fact that he started life as a town dog - he spent the 1st 6 yrs of his life as an urban dweller in Chicago. ;) He even had to learn to move off the sidewalk more than in inch to potty when we adopted him...egads! We have acres and acres and he peed and pooped on the very edge of the only little paved item on our farm - the sidewalk.
Hays, Kansas. Simon was a little over a year old. He did the stop, drop and roll. Yuck!!!!!

Hays!
My sister who moved to Wichita had a used car from Hays - I remember the dealership decal on the back of it!
OK< thanks for the little trip down memory lane. It was a cute little silver hatchback Vega ;)
Goose poop is appealing to some dogs. So is cat poop! I caught my sheepie in the kitty litter box, Freaked me out! Then my girlfriend, who works for a vet, told me they are considered doggy "tootsie rolls". LOL
