Can anyone recommend a scissor for the head? I am searching on PetEdge right now and would love some feedback! Thanks! |

Hi! I saw that several people had viewed this post, but nobody had commented yet. I am a newbie OES owner, so I don't have any info to help you. I'm sure some of the more seasoned owners will jump in soon. Anyway, welcome to the forum! |
I got a nice set of Geib Gator grooming shears from Pet Edge. It is a set of 3 and the very best for the face is the thinning shears that come in the set. There are several different levels and price points for the Geib shears. As a beginner, I started with the middle one. Not the most expensive and not the least expensive. They were a good purchase and have served my needs very well. Hope that helps you! |
when we trim Summer hubby used hairdressing scissors and clippers all over her body, tail legs etc. When we get to her head we struggle never quite sure what to do usually end up with a good comb out and a trim with scissors...not much help! |

More important than the brand of shears is how they fit your hand. If you can try several pairs at a dog show or grooming trade show it really helps. If you order on-line, be sure you can send shears back if they don't fit your hand or the blades are too short or long to do what you are trying to accomplish. I do like the Geibs but also have a Kenchii thinners. There are lots of very nice shears out there in all different price ranges. Buy the best you can realistically afford and you'll probably never need to replace them. |
I have a Geib Gator 8.5 inch straight that is my main one. Then can finish up with a thinner to soften the look. I got my daughter the same Gators with offset handles - ergonomic grip and they work really well. |
Thanks everyone for your help!! |
