Kitty pics

9 days old today, and still doing great. :) When is a good age to pretty much know they're going to make it? I'm starting to get confident it is, but I'm still scared to let my guard down.

I thought I'd share a couple of pics since its left eye opened today. :) He is getting such a fat little belly! I think I'm going to start cutting down on the feedings every 3-4 hours to see how it does. Allie still isn't paying any attention to her baby. She has an appointment to get spayed on Friday, so I hope all goes well with that. I just know she doesn't need to have any more babies.

Here's one with the eye open, but it's hard to see since the eyes are black. :)

AWWW he's so sweet looking and I love that fat little belly! You're doing a wonderful job!

The only thing you have to worry about is concerning how fast he drinks the formula you are giving him. As each day wears on you ..I mean getting up every couple hours in the wee hours of the morning really gets to you as each day passes. I found myself getting really worn out by the third week and had a tendency to feed them too quickly by that time. The danger exist that if this happens they may develope a respitory problem as a result from apiration of drinking too quick.

My poor little girl kitty started getting very ill and I had to take her to the vets at that age. Not saying you'll do that, but just warning you to prevent that from happening. I also came down with pneumonia after the three weeks..probably from over exhaustion of working and looking after the babies. So please take care of yourself. Yikes sorry if that sounded so negative..just don't want the same thing to happen to you. With their tiny immune systems they can go downhill very quickly so the only advice I give you is no matter how tired you are..let him drink at his own pace and don't rush. I know easier said than done when you're feeding at 4 am and you're dead tired.

Is it possible you can have the vet do a quick lookover at the baby when you take your girl in? It will ease your mind and they can assess how he's doing. I'm so amazed at the feistiness of this little one..he's so determined to live. Ummm you know you aren't going to be able to give him away after mothering him? :D I ended up keeping Lil Girl, although I swore I wouldn't get attached.

Thanks for posting these pics and I will keep this little one in my thoughts and you as well.
