She is doing much better in the training class, and she doesn't get worked up nearly as much. On our walks she's not pulling anymore and she's a pretty happy dog. We haven't taken her out to the more public trails lately, but I'm planning on it soon. She picks up or remembers a lot of commands, and is pretty good about obeying me. She is hit or miss with following Dan's commands, but as all of us work on her, she's getting better. On leash, she'll obey the girls, but doesn't the boy. I'm actually going to talk to the trainer about how to deal with the boy and Amy. He gets wallowy, and she loves it, but then she gets excited and will "shark" him (open mouth, head swing, where teeth sometimes connect) or paw him and leave a bruise. He's smaller than her and he's doesn't quite get the signs that she's getting excited soon enough. At her vet visit last month, the vet estimated her age to be an older 3 or younger 4. We thought she was older than what the rescue told us, but as she settles in she is definitely acting more like a 4 year old dog versus a middle aged one. She seems to get younger the longer she's here. |

Sounds like you are making good progress, well done. |
Wow! Well done everyone, that's great news. |
That's great news! Good testament to the hard work you are doing. |
Congrats on the great progress ! |
You are bonding with each other....and because of that, she is progressing...she knows she is loved!!!!! |
Positive behavior changes take time, and consistency. Then, one day, you notice that the inappropriate behaviors are occurring less and less frequently. One day soon you will find that they have disappeared altogether. Well done! Laurie and Oscar |
I'm going to follow this up. We're managing our walks much better too. I switched her to a Halti for our walks and its so much better than the prong collar. |
