However, I am a bit disappointed at the general lack of training displayed by many uprights. Once the guests were sitting comfortably at butt level I did my best sheepie butt wiggle and backed up to them for a butt scratch. It was clear that they have not been properly trained to obey butt scratching commands. It's a disgrace really. They just kept on doing what they were doing and completely ignored my command. Even after I turned my head to look over my shoulder and attempted to make eye contact they still didn't pay attention. There needs to be a lot more time and effort put into the proper training of uprights. They can't be left to just run around the place untrained and useless. It's just not acceptable. Really, what is the world coming to? Tiggy (with an unscratched butt, still!) |

Poor Tig! I remember taking one of my sheepies when we went to visit family. Brother was having a cocktail party and sheepie invited herself. She went from person to person looking for a simple "hello", pat on head or even acknowledgement. To the person they ignored her. She was crushed. Her head went down and she wandered away under a table in another room. Sheepies hate to be ignored. Sending global butt scratches to Tig................ |
Poor Tiggie. Your uprights will have to get better visitors for you. Those tutored in the art of butt scatching a sheepie bum as all of us are on here, the oes.org forum. |
Helen, Tiggy is nagging me to hire a plane and fly a whole bunch of forum people here for a party. I wish I could bring her to a sheepiepalooza But I couldn't stand to be without her for all the time she'd have to stay in quarantine to come home. |
Poor Tiggy. Let me know what time the butt scratchers flight is leaving. |
Obviously Tigs your momma and papa invite the wrong dogless visitors over Butt scratches a plenty when Auntie lisa visits, and treats too We shall have a word in your parents ear on the type of visitors there letting in now-a-days |
Summer actually hurts if you dont scratch her bum, she pushes at you, looks quite rude really but I dont think she means to be rude, or does she..?? |
Poor Tiggy! How can they resist her efforts for attention? |
Hi Tigs, this is Mady! I find for particularly dumb guests, you really have to make it obvious, this is my technique: |
ok...OK...Mady???? Tiggy???? Willow, here~~~I am learning so much from my sheepieform frends...I love Mady's technike~~ Tiggy, try that!! I am sure it wil work... I don't know about such things, YET...but I am getting educated FAST aND, a LiTtle HElp WITHother stuffff???????? what about the begging I haven't tried it ~~don't know how to execute the moves???? Are the uprights easier to train in this area>>>? It sure smelllls good when they go into that big room with the table AND why don't rthey eat on the floor like us??? THEN we could all SHARE>>>??? IT IS A MYSTERY!!!!!! Love....WILLOW..... |
I don't like new uprights, they scare me and then someone pees on the floor... I love my mom. The new uprights might hurt Mama or the short ones, so I try to tell them they shouldn't come in... but then they come in and talk silly and try to touch me, so I bark or growl more and someone pees on the floor... I love my mom. Then Mama opens the big door and tells Opal and me to go outside. I get away from the uprights but I can watch through the big door to make sure Mama and the short ones are ok. Plus, Opal and I get to bark at the birds without being told no. After the new uprights leave, I get lots of ear and butt scratchies. That's my favorite part of having visitors. Oh, unless they leave short uprights. Ohhh... then I get all sorts of ear scratchies and butt scratchies and playtime. Short uprights are nice. Tall ones scare me. |
Mady, I love your style. I will be trying that technique the very first opportunity that arises. Willow, I completely agree with you; uprights should eat on the floor 'cause sharing is good! It sounds like you're already on your way to begging, use your head tilt combined with a longing stare and you'll be amazed at what you can convince uprights to hand out. Amy, once you get used to the tall uprights you'll discover that many of them are easily manipulated into giving you all sorts of great things like butt and ear scratchies and treats. Hopefully someone will then stop peeing on the floor and I know you'll always love your Mom. Lets keep up the good work managing our flocks of uprights guys. It's a tuff job but we're up to it!! Love Tiggy |
