Bob is gone
Bob was put to sleep this morning. He laid down and struggled to get up. Once he was up I knew it was time. The vet agreed. His hind end just couldn't support him. Bob left with dignity which is how I wanted it. He knew no pain or fear. He was perky and eating carrots until the end. I can't stop crying and I don't know what I'm going to do without him. Rest in peace baby boy. Mamma misses you like stink. |

| Lisa, I cut a big hunk of Bob's tail. There are several places that will make bracelets with the hair. I spent this morning looking at them on the Internet. Thank you all for your kind words. I haven't had any hysteria today but still lots of tears. I just feel numb and my stomach hurts. I can't sit still. The yoga mantra is "quiet your body and your mind will follow." A foot of snow is predicted over the next 48 hours so I will have time to sit and process. 2014 can only be better than 2013. I hope 2014 brings us all peace and no pain. |

Bob was a lucky horse to have you as his mommy. I remember the stories of you moving him to a new stable, and how you loved to ride him. | Thank you all for your wonderful thoughts. I'm still in a lot of pain and I know only time will heal my wounds. What touches me most is to hear from people in all areas of my life how Bob was a part of THEIR life also. I like to think he had a positive impact on others. Before he died I started clearing out a corner of my second bedroom. Now I know that it will become my Bob nook, with a bench where I can sit and look at his pictures, and think of him. |
