I used to own an Invisible Fence system at my first home in Greenville, SC. We had the same problem and the local dealership told us it was unfortunate but some homes wiring system can cause this to happen. We finally had to just remove the Invisible Fence collar when our dog was inside. I spoke to another fence dealership in the area (Dog Guard Out of Sight Fencing) and they explained that the wiring might be bleeding into a cable line and the cable line is triggering the receiver. They explained the IF lines must be installed where they are not too close to the cable lines. They suggested I turn down the width of the field until the false signal is eliminated. I did this and the problem was solved. They also said the Invisible Fence collar could be activated because of a grounding problem. I removed the cable ground which was grounded onto the outside electrical ground rod and this also eliminated the problem. I would not suggest leaving the cable line ungrounded I would suggest you call the cable company and ask if a separate ground rod could be installed just for the cable wire. In my case I just left the field width not as wide and grounded the cable line. I would not suggest calling the Invisible Fence dealer in Greenville as their customer service is non-existent. The person I spoke with was rude and obviously not interested in helping me. The person with Dog Guard spent time with me on the phone and offered their help and offered to come out if the first suggestion did not work. They indicated there was a difference in the two brands and although the older Dog Guard systems sometimes had a similar problem, the newer generation equipment with Dog Guard had eliminated this problem. Good Luck! I hope this was helpful. |
