He doesn't like doing laundry |
he's scratching an itch dear. |
Definitely scratching himself!! Foz does this to the couch and I want to say my OES growing up used to do the same thing to the wall. Silly gooses! |
Yeah, he's self rubbing, it is soothing. Sam the Pyr would wake up in the a.m. and rub himself down the hall to the front door. Other dogs noticed this and started doing it themselves. Need I tell you how often I had to scrub the wall? Then there are the table scratchers. First Glacier Pyr would scratch her back on the dining room table. Oh what a contented look on her face. Now Kensie has started on her own, Glacier has been gone 2 years. Same table just moved into kitchen now so now the scratching occurs when the uprights are at the table and we have to be mindful of objects that might fall over. |
Chewie does it on the back of the loveseat. Simon used to do it along the front edge of the same loveseat. My sheep do it in the barn and along the hay elevator too....those without hands need to get creative when they have an itch. |
It's the bed for Benson. She starts as close to the head of Hubby's side as she can, rubs all the way around the bottom to my side (we don't have a footboard), then turns around and goes the other way to catch the other side. She is such a clown when she looks up at us with her hair all standing on end! |
In addition to the scratching, I think Tucker might also be leaving his scent. His way of saying "MY HOUSE!" without peeing. Laurie and Oscar |
Zeke does this, too. Against the couch and against the bed. Or a person if they're handy. |
In addition to the scratching, I think Tucker might also be leaving his scent. His way of saying "MY HOUSE!" without peeing. Laurie and Oscar I'm ALL for the "leaving a scent without peeing" part. |
Monty does it too. When he was neutered and had his cone on he would be crashing along all the walls The walls and the sofa also appear to him to make suitable drying surfaces after a bath |
Dex loves to do it on the hedges outside. Now that he is about 85 pounds it isn't good for the hedges. He does it with a smile on his face. It's not because he is itchy, it feels good to him and makes him happy. |
