It's supposed to pass over our area tomorrow (we're about 3.5 hours inland), but it should be a tropical storm by the time it passes over us. I'm amazed at how quickly this storm grew both times...it's a terrible, dangerous one for sure! |

The eye of Dennis is now past us. We had many very strong feeder bands blow thru since last night. The level of the canal is up to our dock and a few of the waves have gone over the sea wall. There was also a high tide which hasn't helped this area with the flooding. The pool water is overflowing...it was blowing so hard that the port-a-let in the front yard is now on its side . We even had a couple of cattle egrets take shelter on our porch. I've been taking Samantha out in between rain storms. I think that the low barometric pressure makes her goofy.
To anyone who is dealing with this, good luck and stay safe. |
Gail- I hope that we all get throught this okay. i am happy to know that some ourr FL people are okay. Keep your fingers crossed for those of us in AL MS. Gail, good luck. Betsy |
I hope all of you down on the Gulf Coast got through this without any additional damage. I have a friend down on the Panhandle who just got her house finished 6 weeks ago. I would hate to think of anyone having to go through that a second time! |
Can you believe it may happen again? I know it is only speculation at this time, but here comes Emily. Boy that name is enough to scare me anyway. I have only known two Emily's in my life, one was vindictive and mean and the other, well she's still a teenager and driving her Mother crazy
Let's cross our fingers and maybe it will go the other way. Well maybe it will just go away. |
Hi,
Just wanted to say, Betsy and those of you in that area - be safe and my thoughts are with you. Marianne and the boys |
