bacon in water
Does anybody do this? Cooking bacon first in water renders the fat then when the water boils away, the bacon crisps up. A lot less splattering and less chance of burning the meat. The Kitchn chef suggests using less water than ATK folks. |

| I have done that with Italian sausage that I put on pizza. I parboiled the sausage to get the grease out, then fried it in the pan. No reason it couldn't be done with bacon (but then you don't have the good bacon grease to fry eggs in....) |

| I've not cooked bacon this way, but I would give it a try. I don't cook my noodles for my spaghetti or lasagna anymore either, I put them into the sauces and the sauces absorb into them. All of these new ways of cooking, interesting. |

Ha Ha--you are absolutely right!! 'Change' has never been my strong suit--and trying something new never hurts a thing!! And...This would be great for BLTs!! |
