So happy you are looking into this!!!!! I think you will love it!!! Keep us posted.....and... Good Luck!!!!!!! |
Val, we owe our interest in TDI to your stories about your visits with Heart. As I said, we'll take one dog into this class and the other dog into the next class. This way bot dogs and both Jen and I can get certified so either one can go on visits. This is something that Jen has been looking forward to her being able to do. And I'll definitely keep you posted!!! Vance, Jen, Zoey and Caitlyn |
Thank you. I know you and Jen will make great teams and will bring many people comfort and happiness. With Heart being retired from the therapy program, and, for the first time in about 23 years, I will not have a dog to be visiting with any time soon, if ever again. So, I will live through you and Jen!!! And you can post all your wonderful stories and mini-miracles you will witness when you graduate. I am so excited for both of you! And I can't wait to hear how your classes progress. |
Vance, Clermont County Training offers classes. That is where Gertie received her training. Erin/Gertie |
Thanks Erin! While that's another 30 miles to drive; it is still a great option. The only other class I've seen was in Columbus and was like $130! And it wasn't associated with TDI. Vance |
Have fun, and good luck! We were just at Mankato State University yesterday (Bond, Chewie and I) doing finals week stress relief. We go to another college on Thursday. And we had a really interesting visit with one of the students yesterday. She was sitting on the floor with Chewie, and saying how she missed their dogs at home. We got talking about the dogs and what we do with them. I mentioned Chewie does agility (she did too with her dog) and she said "My mom's a judge, and I think she judged a sheepdog nationals"...and I asked her where she lived - Wisconsin. I told her we were in WI at West Bend, Washington Co Fairgrounds in 2012, and that Chewie was the High In Trial sheepdog there. She calls her mom (sitting there) and asks if she judged the sheepdog nationals in West Bend...mom says "Yes". So she says "Mom, I'm sitting here at school petting your High in Trial dog!" Mom asks what is the dog's name? and she says "Chewie" - and she remembered Chewie. It was such a fun moment, and she and I were amazed what a small world it truly is! |
