Yes that is normal behavior. Your puppy is just discovering the world and learning to play as well. Enjoy this time. |
They aren't little humans, they are dogs and do dog things. Try not to judge them like you would a toddler. Sit back and enjoy the chaos but also get into a good training program because these squirts will test you and you'd better be ready! On the other hand, it's a breed that keeps you laughing......for years. |
A puppy's job is to explore the world and find their proper place in it. That's just what your puppy is doing... investigating... learning...discovering. The bark may be because your little one is excited by the toy or frustrated because it's too heavy to pick up and run off with. It's all perfectly normal and you will have many more adventures to come. May you and your new puppy enjoy them all together. Linda Zimmerman |
frustration bark! Even with old Kensie, when we go to play and I'm not fast enough, I get the bark, "Come on slow poke!" Granted the sheepdog bark can be piercing, but it was to help the shepherd keep track of the beasts in the foggy English countryside. So let them bark in discovery, play, etc but due set boundaries when barking is not appropriate. |
thanks for the writing back!. This forum is awesome! |
Best place in the world for any problem.x |
Kirby was never much of a barker; however anything new - he had to explore and be certain of it before he accepted it as part of his world. They seem to need to puzzle their world out. |
I remember when we picked Heart up at the airport at 3AM, as we were riding down the highway going home, my oldest was driving, I was in the passenger side, and my youngest was hold Heart...(I KNOW...not very safe, but Heart had been in that DAm@ aircrate since 4 pm the day before. And so, Maureen was holding her. I turned on the overhead light to get a better look at my little baby....and, she saw herself in the reflection of the back window and began to cry....she thought it was one of her siblings!!!!! So we had to turn the light off..I didn't want to traumatize her more than she already was......So....just enjoy your baby and help him with his exploration of his world..... Good Luck, keep us posted and we DO love to see pics!!!! |
