I have a 17 week old OES pup called Logan. We have had him since 8 weeks old. He is a lovable and friendly pup apart from one big problem. He hates being left.We have 2 whippets for company. We have only tried leaving him for 10-15 minutes at a time.We leave a radio on plus hes left with a kong and treat ball, blanket with our smell on. All Logan does is howl, bark and scratch at the crate. He sleeps in a crate in my bedroom at night as my whippets have always slept upstairs in their own beds. Has anyone ever had problems like me or can you advise anything else. Thanks so much xx |

Hi! Welcome to the forum! My Sam is 7 1/2 months old. I don't really have any advice for you. Sam has always liked his crate. We did the same things you are doing (TV/radio on, kong, something with our scent, etc.). But, there are lots of more experienced owners here that will be able to offer help. Oh, and we love lots of pictures. Can't wait to see some pics of Logan! |
Hi Thank you for your reply.I have spoken to a dog behavourist who said Logan is suffering seperation anxiety. So will let you know how the training goes. Pics will follow soon, xxx |
Same issue here. Does fine in the bedroom at night in a crate, but being crated during the day is a barking, howling, scratching nightmare. The poor baby is worn out from all of this when I get home and wants to sleep. No wonder....she's exhausted herself. Any advice? We have done the music, treats, kong, blanket with our scent.... |
