It reminded me of the scarf Barbara Eden wore in I Dream of Jeannie. Anybody seen this yet? What's the deal with it? |

mark, you mean snoods like this? they've been used on oes and affies in england for awhile to keep their ears outta food and water. http://www.ebay.com/itm/AFGHAN-HOUND-bl ... 2c76649186 |
No, not like that. These were more scarf like. And they wrapped around the head where the ears are. They did not go down the neck. They actually looked a little loose fitting. As if they were more a fashion accessory rather than a useful piece of clothing. |
I've seen them mark at shows usually spaniels have them. Probably as their ears drag stops them getting wdt and dirty |
The guest is right, although the snoods here at the shows lately are more like a shower cap that covers up just the head and ears. Usually they are a glittery fabric. They keep ears from dragging in the dirt, falling in food or water and from ending up with saliva on them before a dog shows. People probably think boots on OES are a fashion statement too. Maybe that's why Lyra's are hot pink?? |
Yep - snoods. All my basset friends use them...for obvious reason! http://howlinhounds.blogspot.com/2007/0 ... ified.html I have a couple at home too. |
Thank you Dawn. They were more like that. |

Other breeds use them too - ones with longer flowing show coats on their ears - springers, poodles, afghans and more. They are a fabric tube, with elastic on both edges. They even come in all different sizes! |
