I give an extra holiday bonus to anyone who provides good service for me throughout the year. The amount depends upon the service. When Oscar used to go to a groomer, I tipped her really well throughout the year (30%), plus a yearly bonus of $50 - $75. She was wonderful to me and Oscar, and extremely flexible. She would let me drop him off at 9 a.m., when she would immediately bathe him herself, to ensure that all of the soap was rinsed out. When he just got a bath, he would be ready by 11:30 a.m., and she would call me about 10 minutes before he was done, so I could be there when he came off the table, and he would never have to go into a cage. For a bath and a clip, he would be done by noon. She made it as easy as possible to minimize Oscar's stress. If not for Oscar's health issues that require that I groom him myself, I would still be going to her. If you are happy with the service that someone provides throughout the year, then "holiday bonus" away! I would think something in the $25 - $50 range would be much appreciated. I did feel a little weird about giving Oscar's trainer cash, so I used to give a gift card to PetSmart. Laurie and Oscar |
I am very comfortable with my groomer and she also does great with both my dogs. I thought I read once to tip the price of one hair cut. Well, for me that is about 100...and would that mean 100 each dog? Now that is a lot of money! |
