Feeling bad for hubby

My husband has had quite a week. His best friend died on Saturday. I couldn't take all the baloney at work anymore and gave my notice and his right hand man at work for years is in the hospital after having heart problems and had emergency surgery. I did make him smile today. I bought him a new Bose radio for our anniversary on Wednesday. 42 years......wow. :hearts: :hearts:

I forgot to mention our daughter who lives 1000 miles away was fixing her garage door and it started up and knocked her flat on her back on the cement floor. Was in the ER couple of times and was in the hospital with a bad kidney infection for 5 days on IV antibiotics and home with a PICC line now.
Hope things will get better now, don't need another week like this.
Congrats on 42 years!!!

Your job loss isn't great, but it sounds like the stress and office politics was getting insane...next thing it would be YOU having the heart attack!! :( Sometimes you just need to cut your losses and move on, for your own well being.

Thanks for the congrats!!!! 42 years is quite the feat. My husband was married before and it shows he wasn't so bad to live with especially after his ex has gone through her 4th husband and a couple of engagements between those!
I only had one year left until Medicare and 2 left for retirement. I wanted to stay there until I retired especially after 14 years. My new administrator was bound and determined to make me miserable and she didn't think I would leave. So now all my knowledge goes with me because no know else knows the flow of how the office worked. But oh well.....I know I couldn't sleep at night and it was so stressful to go to work every morning. Their loss is my gain. Right?
Married 42 years? That is quite an accomplishment. You are blessed to have such a great relationship and no matter what else, that alone is something to be so thankful for. Sorry to hear the rest as it was a bad week for you and your family. Hope the weeks improve and remember all the things you can be thankful for. Hugs for a better week :ghug: :ghug: :ghug: :ghug:
Congrats on 42 years! Hope everything else gets better.

Congratulations on your big 42!!! Not many people can say that these days.

Wow, you need some good luck. Hoping that the bad ju-ju was left behind at the hospital.

Enjoy the time off now if you can. You deserve the break.

gosh poor you and hubby. we have been married 43 this year so beat you! I retired 6 years ago as my beloved job turned sour and I was stressed out, at one point I thought I was having heart attack but pure stress. I now work part time at a pre school, and it is lovely. OH cant work through illness we have our ups and downs but life is too short to do something which makes you miserable xx

I hear this more and more from people near retirement. One lady summed it up, "High school bullies become office administrators."

Sometimes the office does fall apart, but a "wise" administrator will already have formulated plans on new procedures to implement once the oldsters are out the door. Whether they work is another story.

Since you are still in the office, your absence hasn't been noticed. They will try to drain your knowledge..........you could play difficult and remain mum.  "You are the administrator, not me."

I know one lady received a call from one of the doctor's in the office she left asking her to come back after a year. When she inquired of the same administrator was there and was told yes she could without qualms say, "There's your problem." By then she was enjoying her retirement, just not the reduction in income.

I hope you get into the swing of retirement quickly and enjoy it. More time with the puppies!!!!
