Noses are tough, because they can lick it. They lick the sore, they lick anything you put on it. The cone may help other stuff - like scratching or rubbing it against surfaces - but man, I bet she's smart enough to rub against stuff even with the cone on. If it seems clean (non-infected) I would just let it heal. Again.... |
Hmmm, actually I should be clearer, it's not on her actual nose, I guess it's on her snout. I doubt she could lick it, but scratch it, yes. |

Just keep it clean by washing, plain water, twice a day. Keeping it clean and without stuff on it helps it heal faster. Jack took a hunk out of his big black button and it healed nicely. Vet tried to push it back together for a stitch or two and said, "Forget it, we'll let it heal from the inside. Just keep it clean." Exception for Mady would be hair......if hair keeps irritating the wound, then you have to shave the area. |
