Zumba

I've just started doing Zumba latin dace fitness classes .They are one hour long and I'm on my second week . I went mon-fri last week and really loved it even though I have some aches and pains from years of inactivity ! So far I've tried Zumba Gold , Beginners and Zumba toning ( done with weights ) Has anyone else tried it ? I really like it although I'm overweight and out of shape and over 60.This is the first exercise class I've done in forever and I'm hopeful I can stick with it because it's more fun than Curves or the regular gym. Has anyone tried any of the videos and can you recommend any ?

zumba is great i do it every day just go your own pace dont try to do what others are doing ..keep it up the hr goes real quick doesnt it? will not get bored with it like the rest of working out..
The music seems to help get me in the mood. Today I was very tired but I did the class anyway even though I was slow. I'll be there tomorrow tired or not. Thanks for the encouragement.
I do hula hooping instead, Zumba looks fun but exhausting.
Hooping is fun as it is an progressive activity, always something new to learn...and is not just hooping around the waist. Also good for all ages.

I would say keep it going. Don't matter about your age and you can buy a monitor that checks your heart rate and other things while you do your workout also try and keep on a diet as well. Small amounts at a time as your body is very bright. If you only eat once a day it will store fat. Tap yourself on the back and well done as well
Forgot to add you can but if for the xbox or the ps3 so you have a go at home as well if you have the room and get the family involved
My sister in law started doing Zumba several years ago. She is now a certified Zumba instructor in multiple levels. Zumba has transformed her mental, physical and social well being. She is a different person.

I used to do zumba. Was alright bit too feminine to put it correctly all that hip shaking and stuff, I stuck to street dance and contemporary lol :-P

I only just tried doing more contemporary, I tried mixing hip hop feet movements with hooping, now that's a sight and a challenge. I am not coordinated enough for Zumba and the hip shaking puts me off a bit too.
