I really don't mind if they are not fifth generation or anything like that just would like them to be OES - does anyone know where we should be looking to avoid scams? |

First off, welcome to the best dog forum in the history of all man-kind. Not knowing anything about you or where you're from, let's start with the basics; Go here - http://forum.oes.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=7690 and read each link. There is a HUGE wealth of info there regarding puppies and getting a good one. One other thing I'll recommend is to go to a dog show close to you. This way you can see what a good dog 'should' look like and you should be able to get to talk to some breeders. Remember to be polite and try to catch them AFTER they come out of the ring. Most Sheepie people are pretty busy prior to going into the ring. For many American Kennel Club (AKC) shows, you can look here. This will list all kinds of shows from Obedience, to agility, to conformation; just search by state and use the key abbreviations in the second column. http://www.infodog.com/showinfo/state.htm Go to this site for upcoming United Kennel Club (UKC) shows and search by several different ways; http://www.ukcdogs.com/Upcoming.nsf/EventView?Open&Group=DogEvents&Type=M One difference between the two organizations above is that in the conformation rings, UKC doesn’t allow pro handlers. This tends to make things a lot more relaxed and a in turn more fun for all; at least in my opinion… Again, welcome and don’t hesitate to keep asking questions. The more you ask, the more you’ll learn and know. And being knowledgeable make you more scam-proof. Vance |
