The reaction was familiar; I still retch sometimes when I clean up vomit. Dirty diapers were never my friend! The reality is the both got Trifexis about 2 hours earlier. |

Oh lovely, probably on a rug too. I'd mention this to the vet, maybe something else can be given that won't cause this. Do you give with food or separate? |
Of course it was on carpet, given the option they will always chose carpet to throw up on! We kinda alternate between food and empty stomach. They tend to throw up about every other time no matter which it is. I talked to the vet and he acknowledged it is a known issue with Trifexis. If they keep the pills down an hour or so they are effective. I have never seen a flea on either dog and only one dead tick on Dex (Trifexis isn't touted as a tick deterent only because it wasn't tested for it but reports say it is effective against ticks as well). Our area is known to be heavy with fleas and ticks. With the performance we have experienced in 2 years of use we are willing to clean up a couple times a year. The dogs throw up and bounce right back, no indication of upset tummy before or after though they do know they made a mess. |
we had the same issue with Trifexis. I find they are less likely to vomit if given on a full stomach. But we have been using it for a couple of years now, and they almost never puke anymore. And we have had real issues with ticks in the past; so this is medicine for us. I never find live ones on the dogs; just everywhere else. |
