Bailey has had a tummy upset lately and is just on the mend but we don't want him to go without a cake tomorrow. So if anyone has any good ideas please let me know. Oes |

oh, I'd be careful! I might be tempted to make up a batch of sticky rice form it into a cake and place a candle in the middle........and have cupcakes for the uprights. Not knowing what puppy has been eating, it is hard to suggest the shredded apple/peanut butter and flour route. Anything new could bring back the problems. You can cook a sweet potato, mush it up and add to the rice and mold it if you need something more colorful. Getting into eggs, peanutbutter, oils, etc is just too iffy. Still have a squirty sheepie here........rice just finished cooking. |
Yeah we had a good day today - so I am pleased no more erruptions. But it is a bit sad we are not able to do something special for his first Birthday. As you say it could cause the problems to come back! Maybe we just make a human cake and eat it ourselves! lol Poor boy and this is his very first Birthday ever and we so wanted to make a special day. He got a new bed and lots of soft blankets etc and cusion to go in it. ( Now he is not eating everything plastic! ) He also has lots of nice toys to play with and loads of treats he can't eat! Ohhh well we will see what tomorrow brings. He has been quite the darling today wandering about the yard after DH ( Dear hubby) "helping" to get the caravan fixed. After some nasty horrible nameless paw owning person ate all the covers off the outside of the caravan! (The ones that stop the rain getting into the electrics etc.) Now that couldn't possibly be anything to do with Bailey???? And I wonder what he ate????? To make his tummy bad??? Oes |

Parwaz wrote: You should make a cake. I going to have a go Oh sorry it was ages ago that Bailey had his Birthday - he is 14 months old now. We decided not to give him cake because he was not very well. We also were supposed to go away in September but in the end we couldn't go because Bailey was still ill and we decided it was not fare on other dogs to let him stay in the Kennels. We are going away to England next month so we will try again then. I think we will put both dogs into the kennels together and hopefully they will be company for eachother and get used to it over time. We have to go down the Kennel rout as we don;t have anyone else here who will dog mind. THe kennels are lovely though. We are even putting our elderly cat into the cattery too. He is going to the Vet cattery so they will all get really good treatment. I have to go to England to visit my Dad so cannot do anything about it. The boys will get used to Kennels I am sure and they are lovely folk. As for the Birthday cake I will try and make one for Gizzy's Birthday. We cellibrate that on Christmas eve as that is the day he came to live here. DH found him in the road half starved and freezing cold as it was snowing. That was a good few years back but we don;t really know how old "the GIz" is ? So wont be putting candles on it! Good luck with your efforts and do let me know how it turns out. Oes |
