HELP!!! |

She may think there is something wrong with him for laying there...lol... I know it's not funny and must be frustrating, but I think you need to figure out why she is doing it if possible to stop it. I'm sure he's tried telling her "That's enough!" or something similar.... I would just ignore her when she does it, and perhaps isolate her to a different room and then praise her like crazy at any moment she is not barking at him.
Good luck! |
Mindarissa has Morgan always done this, or is it relatively new behavior? Bailey has a tendency to bother people who are laying on the couch too, I think it's because their heads are at his eye level so he thinks it gives him permission to be the big dog.
OK, here's my "bad mommy"confession for the day. When Bailey was going through a particularly "barky" period, I was hanging around the Petsmart puppy class looking for inspiration. The trainer told one of the owners that a good way to stop barking is to spray Bitter Apple directly into the dog's mouth when he's barking like crazy. She demonstrated it, and it did indeed stop the dog from barking. So the next time Bailey went on an inexplicable barking streak I gave him a squirt of Bitter Apple. The look on his face was horrible! It was obviously a really, really unpleasant experience and I vowed I would never do it again. Ironically, I've never had to. Let me tell you, the mere sight of the Bitter Apple bottle is enough to stop Bailey in his tracks. We don't use it much because he's not much of a chewer - we squirt it on his favorite patch of gravel in the yard to stop him from eating rocks, so we need to get it out each time he picks a new patch of gravel. And every time he sees that bottle he gets that "Oh NOOOO!" look on his face and shapes up for a good hour. |
I will try the bitter apple hell I will try anything. The funny thing is she only does it with my husband when he is on the couch or if my mother comes. Not me not the kids. Lets see if this works, thanks |
Hendrix does the same thing, everytime we're on the couch he barks away. We usually just end up saying "do you want to go out?" and he runs off to the door. We consider it his sign of "i want my alone time outside."
He knows how to go outside by ringing the bell, but I think he barks at us because he thinks we don't hear it. |
