When I answer the phone, she barks so loud, I miss the first minute or so of the conversation. Anyone ekes have this problem? How can I stop this annoying behavior? |

Georgi is a nightmare with the T.V. When we watch tv with animals in she is not allowed in the room |
Sounds like the phone makes her forget just who is in charge? When the phones goes start off by removing from the room before answering. You could use a mobile/cellular to ring your home phone and practice this until she gets the message (no pun intended) that you know the phone has rung you don't need to bark you daft girl. |
Well, I COULD do that, but it's kind of fun watching her try to herd me. It's the action of running to get the phone that gets her all excited. She seems to think its playtime! I've tried a few different things, like keeping the phone next to me or using a cell. (She doesn't go nuts in those cases.) I don't want it to get out of hand either. I was just interested if this is common in Sheepies. In the end, its worked out for me since I've missed lots of telemarketing calls! |
The TV isn't so bad. But last holiday season there was a commercial that ran almost non-stop. The commercial had a ringing door bell at the very start of the spot. ("Black Friday door busters"). Our other dog would bark at the first ring and that would get the other one going. By the end of the commercial, both dogs were barking and running towards the front door. You should have seen the disappointment on their faces when nobody came in the house. The ad must have run a 100 times. I think the TV production people put those triggers in commercials to rile up dogs so the owners will pay attention to the ad. |
