Barking

Dani, overall is a great dog, but she barks at us when we are watching TV, sitting in a chair, eating dinner.
We try and get her to sit with us and even play but sometimes it doesn't work.
She is almost 2 1/2 years old.
We are currently using a bark collar that sprays citronella and that works well, but I did not know it I was missing something.

We used can with coins, bark collar with sound, a sound clicker we could manually use and none of those worked.

Ideas?

Have you tried a Pet Convincer? It worked wonders with all sorts of behavior issues with Winston.

No but I am now, might be a nice extra item to have.
What does a "pet convincer" do?
The exercsie "long down" will help but it will take some effort. Start by putting your dog in a down and making them stay for 30 seconds...Sit on the floor at first and hold her down if you have to. Once released, give lots of praise. Work your way up to a 30 minute down without you having to apply any pressure. It works but takes some effort and time on your part. As all training does. Those collars are okay but they are not teaching the dog what you want them to do. they only correct bad behavior. better to teach them what you want... :) Two and half was a very rebellious age for us with both our dogs.

Pass around the Ear Plugs

:lmt: :sidestep:
I have used an air horn. It only took 2 times using it and it worked well. All I had to do was just pick it up after that. I felt very powerful. :excited: HOWEVER, Macie did get ahold it while I was gone and destroyed it. Guess we all know who actually was all powerful.  I bought it at the dollar store but they don't have them anymore. My only one left is in the car. Not only does it work well for barking, but also people texting and talking on the phone while driving!!!!!!
