Parti Poodle in the wood pile?

Pardon the photo layout.

This is Jax, a new foster. Guess is he's somewhere close to one year old. I know he's a Sheepie but the look and feel of his coat make me think a blk/wht Parti Poodle my be living in there.

His coat is soft and curly. The back color looks almost cat like with silvery white striping. His forelegs have several black spots in the white.

What do you think?

He is The absolute best boy ever! No house, people, or animal issues. Sharp as a tac and sweet as cab be.

Seriously cute! Could be some "puddle" in there. Doesn't have to be a Parti, the OES markings may be dominant and just hints of other color in there showing up. A Partie P x OES will be a nice, loving, smart dog. Keep on eye on the snout to see if a "French noise" shows up.

Our gone Jack.......the Holstein OES would curl up like that if I didn't brush him once in awhile. Would have loved to see him as a pup.

An absolutely lovely white Standard Puddle followed Kensie into vet. He just screamed "show dog" though in puppy cut. What movement, bearing, etc........and daintier feet than OES if possible. Kensie had duck feet in comparison. Owner older lady who moved as well as the dog. I could see her leading him around the ring with the same light delicate trot.

I have to utter under my breath around DH who only views poodles in their show cuts........(((I do like standard poodles))).
She may be one of the newest designer dogs - a sheepadoodle. I've seen a lot of 'breeders' selling sheepadoodles and trying to pass them off as hypoallergenic. He is a very sweet looking boy!
Have a look, Ned is a standard parti colored poodle.
how big Dev? Sheepiedoddle might be a good guess.

Katdog....does the Parti-Pooh have a mottled mouth.......some dark coloring for example on the palette? I suspect so........but often that helps IDing sheepies. In that case, it wouldn't help here.

Yeah, Jack would curl like that.......all over.
Tonks and Luna both curl up similar to that if I don't blow them dry after being wet. Their curls may be a bit larger. They' pretty poorly bred, but they're pure bred.
Yes the ticking is everywhere including in his mouth .
With grey suit.......is he full grown? Teeth indicate adulthood? He looks very delicate which might also indicate something else in the wood pile. How much does he weigh?

Sure is a cutie!
Sorry for disappearing for so long. We bought a business and its taken all the spare time I had. Jaxx is approximately 1 year old. He weighs in around 59 pounds, but has more room to fill out. His coat is extremely soft with a loose curl/wave as it gets longer. He is extremely smart and jumps quicker and higher than I've seen in a Sheepie. His gaite is all Sheepie.
His tail was cropped at about 3inches long and unlike the long nubs I've seen on Sheepies, he hold his straight up.

I'm sure this boy has a Parti in his past but he's still wonderful. We are working out all the fears he built up as a stray and he should be ready for a home soon.

We have a woman in Weatherford TX that represents herself as a rescue. She breeds sheepiedoodles and sells them for $1500 saying they are rescue dogs. Since Jaxx came from Ft. hood area, I have a feeling he may be one of hers.

Sorry for the upsidedown photo, no matter what I tried this is what I got. Jaxx by my desk today.

I know exactly who you mean. She has periodically advertised the Sheepies in the paper. I contacted her about 5 years ago - and it was obvious from the conversation that what she presented in the ad was not true. Sad.
What is a "Parti Poodle?". Are you saying it has part poodle in its heritage?

It's in regard to the color/markings. Parti-color.
It is used as a term in dog breeds who are also solid colored, and parti-color is when they have white in there too. We use this term for cocker spaniels too. They are Black, ASCOB (any solid color other than black) and Parti-colored - with white.

Parti-colored poodles (or just parti for short) have white in them. They are not an accepted color in poodles with the AKC (AKC only allows solid colors), but the UKC (United Kennel Club) does recognize Parti's.
(I have a friend who has them, breeds them)
I definitely see poodle in him .Why someone would combine a herding breed with a poodle is beyond me when they are both so outstanding on their own ? I suspect greed and stupidity is a factor here. Interestingly , our failed foster sheltie and our poodle are best friends and get along beautifully. I wish I was closer because we would take him in a heartbeat .

For a little while there was a Parti Poodle at our dog park who's markings looked JUST like an OES! he was 100% poodle, but a parti variety. Somewhere I have a photo of him with Tonks and Luna. Every time I saw them at the park I threatened to kidnap him. I do love a Standard poodle....
Here's one that looks similar; I love it!
