A picture would help. By location, it sounds like this may be stained from licking it? |
Bailee's skin has many spots on it, not really brown but more of a black or dark grey shade. Most of his skin is pink or light but he does have a lot of spots which can be seen when I give him his "summer do." |
That was my thought, the proteins in the saliva turn the coat reddish brown. You need a protein dissolver.........remember the meat tenderizer? Is it still on the market? I've heard Milk of Magnesia worked tho never tried it. I'm sure some of the show people have protein stain removing secrets. The question would be........why is so much licking occurring. Allergies are the first thought. Itchy feet or something in the between the pads. Legs could be the allergies or holding one's bone between the paws when chewing....then cleaning up after yourself. |
She doesn't lick a lot but does hold her bone with her front legs - that might be it. Thanks for the responses! |
If it from licking then change to bottled water and put a little apple cider vinegar in it, this will help neutralize the enzymes in the saliva. If not through licking look at the diet content. If you think it's the bones, they will be licking legs as they eat, failing that, stop the bones |
