Yes, two crates with side doors will work in any mini-van. Were you thinking the slant fronts, so the seats can recline? Very few companies make them (they were popular back when we all had station wagons), and General Crate may be the only one with them. But, I never have seen a slant front with side doors. We used to have them (slant fronts), back in the day, when I was a kid (decades ago).I haven't seen anyone with new ones in forever. But, regular rectangle ones with side doors do fit and work with the side doors in them. You just need to measure and get the right size. Some brands have the doors in the center of the long side, but some have them offset toward one end. You would need to check that out - if you got a large crate, on the one that had to be flipped so the door was further from the seatback, that it still would open (only a concern if you had a really long crate). Those van doors open pretty far though, not likely a problem. We have had 3 Mopar minivans over the years. |
Yes, I understand what you mean by the side door being more to one side. Until now I never noticed some are in the middle! I am going with a smaller size crate for travelling. The bigger ones I had, the dogs just slid around in it whenever we stopped and I rather they just stay put. I have bigger soft sided ones for sleeping in or showing or just a resting place outside. In the car I like the wire ones and I prefer they are right behind me instead of all the way in the back with gear between us. what size do you use for your sheepies? |
