A Matter of Time
I pray I have the strength to do what I must do. Right now he's in the doorway unable to get up and slowly I've been placing a blanket underneath him ...as sigh we know that even in is last moments he may turn around and bite my face or fingers. Yeah...that's my Panda boy. Still, for once he doesn't appear to thrash around wildly if someone touches him unexpectedly on his backside. Not that I can blame him for what he went through in his life before me. He's even allowed me to lift his backside the past 2 days in order for him to lift himself up. We even enjoyed a romp outside 2 days ago where he snoozed under a shady tree. Yesterday, he only made it a short distance before his legs gave out. I retrieved a blanket from the house and we both snoozed together in the shade. I awoke a few hours later and he was still sleeping. Rushing to feed the other animals I left him for a few moments and was surprised to see him sitting in the kitchen. Ah Panda! Food was always a motivator! Perhaps he will arise again and I'll have another day with my boy. Yet, I know it's only a matter a time. Marianne |

| Oh Marianne. I am so sorry you and Panda are going through this. Not that long ago I was contemplating Violet, she did, however, take a turn for the better with shoes on. I so remember Panda's story. Strength to you during this really tough time. You both are in my prayers. Hugs to you both. |
| Thanks for all your kinds words. You folks know so much the pain and understand best. I raced to the store this afternoon as I remember my own words - that food is a big motivator with Panda. I splurged...roast beef, lasagna, watermelon, all his favorites.... It worked he managed to get up with assistance and wobble outside (under the shady tree again) Just him and I and with the other boys in the house...Panda and I enjoyed a picnic. It's not fair as today is officially my first day of 2 months off...I had so hoped to spend more time with him. I know mentally he's fighting it but sadly my old boy is finding hard to bare weight on his bad hips. I hope I have a few more days and for now I'll spoil him and will lay beside him under that shady tree telling him how much I love him. Thanks everyone Marianne |

| I'm so sorry Marianne to read about what's happening to you and your big buddy Panda . Spoil him with his favorite foods and treats, give him lots of hugs and if you're like me, you're probably talking to him nonstop and smiling too. | This is very sad, but I completely understand, one more day, one more hour. You gave him a life, love and for that you should hold your head up. |
