boots and coats. Probably too late to get them used to their boots. |
Ugh.... I hope the motel has a large, tiled bathroom...they may be spending drying time lounging in there! One idea - most herding places have a tank, barrel, etc for the dogs to wade in and cool off. It you can have them stand in it if they get muddy, it will float out most of the dirt. Then if you squeeze out the legs and belly coat, and then blot/squeeze with an absorbent towel, it will get them pretty decent. Make sure they are totally brushed out before you go too. We have a 1 day herding workshop tomorrow - then a show on Sunday...so I will be brushing Bond and Chewie tonight. I plan on stopping at the Paw and washing them out Saturday on our way back home (herding is in Wisconsin, over 2 hours from home) and finishing drying them at home....then off to the show Sunday early. Crazy! |
Maybe give them a shorty haircut before? And bring a blow dryer and lots of extra towels! Sounds like fun though. |
